Hormones & Health Science Writers Conference Presented by The Endocrine Society

On January 30 2009, The Endocrine Society assembled a panel of leading physicians and researchers for a one-day seminar entitled “Myths and Misperceptions,” challenging many basic understandings and assumptions associated with several high-profile medical conditions and treatments.  An in-depth examination of the intricate connection between hormones and health was provided around the following topics:

  • Endocrine Disruptors: Are plastics killing us?  What risks are reasonable?
  • Vitamin D: Is this the new miracle hormone? Powerpoint, mp3
  • Weight Loss Surgery: Does it really cure diabetes? Does it have any long-term risks? Powerpoint, mp3
  • Hormone Replacement Therapy: Patches, pills, sprays and gels: Do they work? Are they safe? Powerpoint, mp3
  • Pediatric Obesity: Fat for life? Powerpoint, mp3
